We view children as being competent, capable, curious and rich in their potential.  The programming offered to the children includes a play-based curriculum that is based on the interests of the children.  It also provides a stimulating mix of open-ended challenges and experiences both child-initiated and adult-supported experiences, thus allowing children to feel free to take risks suitable to their age to foster exploration, play and inquiry.  We incorporate indoor and outdoor play, as well active play, rest and quiet time and consider the individual needs of the children receiving care. In addition, the centre promotes the health, safety, nutrition and well-being of the children. 

It also promotes skills that allow children to gain knowledge and understanding of their place and role in society, and in the use and care of the environment.  Children are encouraged to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate.  The documents incorporated into our centre are the ELECT document “Early Learning for Every Child Today”, “How Does Learning Happen?”, and “Think, Feel, Act”.
